I have been wanting to see James Bay every since his breakthrough in 2015 with "Hold Back the River." For one reason or the other, it didn't happen until recently – and luckily several old friends were in town that night – so it was…
When I found out GAYLE was only 17 years old, I was shocked. After I saw her live at Denver's Larimer Lounge, I was in utter disbelief. I did get to meet her briefly and she seemed very nice, but obviously I don't know her.…
I was able to photograph Grace Potter with her full band at Red Rocks in 2015, and it was an incredible show. Returning to our magical amphitheater in 2021, after the year we have all had, Grace Potter was definitely overwhelmed to be playing again for so…
I know I am a bit of an oddball in terms of a music site. Which means sometimes people appreciate that my posts are more personal and less music critique - and some don't. It also means "you win some, you lose some" in terms…
I wasn't sure what to expect from Dermot Kennedy's show at the Summit Music Hall in Denver. The Irish singer/songwriter has taken long strides away from his folkish roots, especially with his latest single "Power Over Me" - which is probably his most "pop" effort…
I have wanted to see ZZ Ward live since her first album five years ago. I could probably recite "Put The Gun Down" at the drop of a hat. Her latest album, The Storm, is just as powerful and has some great guest stars like…
I have seen Ian Mahan perform live a few times but hadn't had a chance to photograph him until his show last week at Lost Lake Lounge. Ian recently released a new single, "Breakaway," but was also pretty prolific in 2017 with twoEPs. He writes some great songs, but is also fun to see live. It's usually a stripped down concert, which IMO shows off his songs best. Although he's the kind of songwriter that it would be cool to see a full orchestra behind him too. (Maybe later in 2018???)
Either way, keep an eye on Ian Mahan and get out to see him when you can.
