Twittering on the Campaign Trail

OK, I will say it. My top three candidates right now are Richardson, Edwards and Obama. But it’s too early for me to declare outright devotion as yet.

However, there’s nothing I love better than candidates that understand the power of technology and embrace it.

John Edwards and Barack Obama are campaigning on Twitter. How damn cool is that?

And while Richardson is not twittering, he is blogging and has a sophisticated internal Facebook-like network system to help his supporters get organized.

The Internet is taking over, folks. Awesome.

    Have you seen this? http://www.dehp.net/candidate/

It’s a test that matches your views with the views of candidates and then tells you who is your best match.

No surprise here: Kucinich, Kucinich, Kucinich

I am very bummed that I missed the You Tube Dem debate last week (casualty of not having cable) but I heard it was awesome. I am guessing there are some soundbites on YouTibe that I could scour for.

Surely you have some friend with cable who will let you watch Keith Olbermann moderate the presidential debate on Tuesday, October 7. It’s on at 6 pm central time (Is Denver mountain time? – if so, 5 pm – but I think they will rebroadcast it later that night also). It’s also on XM radio, but I like to watch. Here’s a link: http://blogs.suntimes.com/sweet/2007/07/sweet_blog_special_msnbcs_keit.html. If that doesn’t work, theres a blurb on the Chicago Sun Times by Lynn Sweet. I can’t wait.

I bet we can get together with people – or surely it’s on broadcast. Rabbit ears to the rescue! Good thing Bryan and I decided to *not* go see Live & Collective Soul play that night. 😉

And yes, Denver is mountain time!

I must plead to not following this as closely as perhaps I should, being Canadian and all. I was listening to the Podcast of NPR’s Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me and apparently one the dark horse candidates (from Alaska) has this youtube ad in which is does well… nothing.

Now I could look it up but I can’t for the life of me remember his name. Sigh.

I’m not all that fond of any of the candidates. I maybe, sort of, kind of like, Romney….I just don’t know.

Maybe I’ll have to vote for Fruita’s very own Mike The Headless Chicken. He did run a successful campaign a few years ago.
