Estes Park, Thanksgiving & Color Theory
Hello from the mountains of Colorado. We’re up here with our best friends Jeff and Danielle and Danielle’s mother for the weekend. The plan is to relax, play in the new snow, relax, watch some movies, relax, eat a lot of food, relax, play some board games, relax – oh, and maybe do some sleeping, too.
We’re missing our families back east and wish them a very happy Thanksgiving. We love you and wish we could be there to celebrate with you. OK, not so much. You all are fun – but have I mentioned we are hanging out in Estes Park this weekend???
In preparation for our weekend, Declan made the following book for Danielle’s mother.
We’ve been teaching him about color theory. Did you know that black is not actually a color, but the absence of color?

P.S. 30 Days of Thanks
I am thankful for my life, everything and everyone in it. I am truly very lucky. Happy Thanksgiving to you all, my most favorite holiday. I hope you are enjoying time with your families and friends and remembering all the wonderful things that make your lives extra special, too.
Every time the kiddo asks me what my favorite color is, and I reply “Black” he informs me of that. Too cute! Enjoy your trip and Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! My best to you and your family.
Snow. sigh. I miss snow. (I live in Santa Barbara, but grew up in the midwest and lived in NYC.)
I’m sure many folks who aren’t near the beach but want to be are now all set to start throwing snowballs at me.
Happy Thanksgiving! I love Estes park, even tho’ haven’t been for years and years… it’s beautiful.
Enjoy!
That’s awesome that you are teaching him that!
Hi Aimee,
very cool that you are starting Declan on color early! in ancient Greece black and white where both considered colors. I think it isn’t until Newton that they get taken out. My nerdy bit for the day. Enjoy your weekend!
Happy Thanksgiving to you all too! :)))
Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
What a great book! I remember learning about black and white and that BLOWING MY MIND when I was about Declan’s age.
Hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving!
