Happy Obama Day!
I have to admit, I had a post lined up that talked about Declan’s bathroom habits. And then I realized that maybe today wasn’t the most appropriate time. So that’ll have to wait for another day. Try to contain your disappointment.
Today, really, what else can I talk about other than Obama Day? Trust me I won’t talk long because everything to be said has already been said, but just thought I would put up the photo Declan wanted to share with Obama himself after the election.
It was part of the Message For Obama Project on Flickr. I encourage you to check it out, there are some really interesting sentiments in there, on both sides of the aisle, for our new president.
Damn it feels good typing that.
Our new president.

I am so over the top happy today. But I’m also so emotional. I keep watching the t.v. and I’m getting teary eyed.
I cried through the whole damn thing!!! – m
It feels good to read it and hear it too…has put a big smile on my face this morning, for sure! I’m watching the streaming live coverage on CNN.com, and they’re doing a laudable job w/ the stream.
Happy Obama Day!
WORD! Love that pic!
What an amazing day!!!!! I am still on a major high.
Our new president. You’re right!
Isn’t so cool?!
My 9 year old really got into the whole election process, from the Democratic primary on, even going so far to rebut some of McCain’s comments in the debates. (that’s my boy!)
He was beaming with pride to come home on November 4th to tell me that Obama won 64% of the school vote. He also snatched the sign and stickers I got from canvassing-they’re displayed in his room.
It was so awesome to sit here with him and watch the swearing in and have so much optimism that hard work will get us out of the mess we’re in.
As a Brit looking in on this I sincerely hope Obama realises the dreams he has built up for the new America. I wish you guys all the best for the next four years and yes, it’s wonderful to see a black man in office – something only the bravest would have dreamt of 50 years ago. Maybe the world is becoming a better place.
I believe in Obama, too
YAY! I was so happy yesterday, and it hasn’t quite worn off. Yay again!
