Dorothy at Summit Music Hall Denver

I got to see Dorothy several years ago in my hometown at the legendary 9:30 Club, but I had never been able to photograph her till recently. I love that I walked in and saw several friends at our comparable venue, The Summit, everyone ready to rock out. Or perhaps more appropriately, “Raise Hell,” like her most popular song.

Dorothy has one of those voices just made for this kind of music and she is a consummate performer. While I was happy to finally get to photograph her show, I almost longed for that time back in DC when I could just jump around with her from the crowd.

Dorothy picks up her tour again (with Dirty Honey) through the fall – so watch out for this flash of wildfire. She also released her latest album, Gifts From the Holy Ghost, in April.
